At Peppermint, we have chosen to use tinted resin in the manufacturing of our Fresh and Fruit surfboard range due to the various ecological benefits that this solution offers. In addition to being absolutely beautiful objects, our tinted resin surfboards contribute to our goal of reducing our environmental impact.

Tinted resin helps reduce the consumption of chemicals. Unlike traditional paint used to add patterns and colors to the boards, the tint is directly integrated into the resin. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to apply additional layers of paint or varnish, which often contain toxic solvents and release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to the environment and health.

The use of tinted resin reduces waste associated with board manufacturing. When a surfboard is painted, there is often material loss due to spray application. With tinted resin, the process is more direct, which helps to minimize waste.

We have also chosen to use bio-based resins composed of 30% plant-based molecules to reduce the carbon footprint of our surfboards while utilizing a renewable source.
